Questions
The things people ask before they trust something new, answered plainly. Anything not here, ask us directly and a person answers.
What it is
What does RankingIQ actually do?
It reads your website, works out what your business does, and finds the searches your customers type on Google. It then checks where you appear for each one, reads the pages that appear above you, and tells you which of your pages to change and what to change on it. The advice names the page, quotes what is on it now, and gives you the wording to use instead.
Who is it for?
Small UK businesses whose next customer is more likely to find them through Google than any other way. Trades, professional services, shops. It is not built for agencies or for people who already work in search marketing.
How is this different from an SEO agency?
An agency charges a monthly retainer and sends you a report. RankingIQ costs a fraction of that and tells you the specific changes to make, so you make them yourself in an afternoon. If you would rather someone else did the work, an agency is the right answer. If you want to know what the work is, this is cheaper and faster.
How is it different from tools like Ahrefs or SEMrush?
Those tools are built for people who already know what to do with the numbers. They show you where you rank and leave the interpretation to you. RankingIQ does the interpreting: it tells you what to change rather than showing you data about your site.
Do I need to know anything about SEO?
No. That is the point. The advice is written in plain words, names the page by its address, and gives you wording you can paste in. There is no jargon and nothing to learn.
How long before I see results?
Google usually takes two to six weeks to react to a change on a website, and longer for a page that is new rather than edited. We would rather tell you that now than let you expect something next week. It is also why we check every night and date every change you record: the point is not movement tomorrow, it is knowing which of the things you did actually worked once Google has had time to respond.
Plans and the trial
What does it cost?
Weekly is £25 a month and Daily is £40 a month, both with no contract. Weekly watches 25 searches and checks them once a week. Daily watches 75, checks them every night, and emails you the morning one slips. Everything else, the fixes, the record and the competitor tracking, is in both.
How does the free trial work?
Every plan starts with a 14 day free trial of Daily: checked every night, drop alerts included, and up to 25 searches watched. No card needed. When it ends you choose a plan or walk away, and nothing is charged either way.
What happens to my data if I do not subscribe?
We stop checking on the day your trial ends. Everything we measured, your searches, the positions we recorded and your record of what you changed, stays exactly where it is for 30 days, so choosing a plan in that time picks up from where it stopped rather than starting again. After 30 days we delete it. Your sign in still works and you can come back whenever you like, but the record of where you stood cannot be rebuilt afterwards.
How many what to fix lists do I get?
Two during the trial, four a month on Weekly and eight a month on Daily. Each one reads your site again against where you now rank, so most people use one, act on it, and ask for another a few weeks later once Google has had time to react. Asking again the day after making a change tends to return the same advice, which is why the allowance goes further than it sounds.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Plans are monthly with no contract and no notice period. Cancel and you keep access until the end of the month you have paid for, and nothing renews after it.
Can I change plan later?
Yes, either way, and you do it yourself from your account. Moving up to Daily starts the nightly checking straight away and brings back any searches a previous downgrade paused. Moving down to Weekly keeps your record and the first 25 searches you added, and pauses the rest rather than deleting them, so they return if you move back up.
Do you make the changes for me?
No, and that is the honest difference between this and an agency. We tell you exactly what to change, in plain words, specific enough to act on in one sitting. You, or whoever builds your website, makes the change, and we prove what happened next.
Getting started
What do you need from me to start?
Your website address, and a few minutes confirming the searches we suggest. The first check runs the same night, and the first list of fixes is usually ready within a couple of days. A card is only needed when you choose a plan.
What counts as a search?
One phrase a customer might type into Google, like ‘emergency plumber southampton’. We suggest them from reading your website, you add or remove whatever you like, and your plan sets how many we watch for you.
What if I do not rank for anything yet?
That is the normal starting point and it is the situation this is built for. Most small business websites appear for their own name and very little else. We record where you stand today even when the honest answer is nowhere, and we look a hundred results deep to do it, so a move from 80th to 40th shows as real progress rather than as no change at all. A site with nothing to lose has more to gain than one already sitting on page one.
Does it work for businesses outside the UK?
Not yet. We check Google UK, which is what your UK customers see. If most of your customers search from outside the UK, this is not the right tool for you today, and we would rather say so than take the subscription.
